Agreement Value:
$31,733.00
Agreement Date:
Apr 1, 2022 - Mar 31, 2023
Description:
As Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) (formerly Inuit Tapirisat of Canada) celebrates its 50th year, this project aims to digitize and make accessible vital records and publications from its founding decade. This work will support ongoing efforts to improve the availability of ITK’s documentary heritage and increase the organization’s capacity for collection stewardship and sharing its digital records. Key activities will include installing and setting up a digital repository system; and digitizing records from two selected collections and making them accessible through the newly implemented repository.
Organization:
Library and Archives Canada
Expected Results:

: The expected short-term results of this project are that the Archives will have a functional digital repository system in place and that all records within the collections selected for this project will be digitized according to the standards selected, migrated into the repository along with their associated metadata, and made accessible to ITK staff. The intended long-term results are the Archives’ increased capacity for collecting, processing and making accessible both digitized and born-digital records; use of the digital archives by ITK’s partner organizations, Inuit communities, and researchers; and greater awareness among this audience of the Archives’ holdings and their relevance to ongoing work within the organization.
