$50,000.00
Agreement Date:

Description:
The organization houses a collection of materials related to the Mohawk Institute, known as the “Mush Hole” to its students. This collection comprises approximately 31 boxes of records, ledger books, maps, and scrapbooks. The proposed project objective is to review all materials in the 31 boxes to evaluate them for inclusion in the newly created Mush Hole fonds, physically rearrange the records, and write RAD-compliant archival descriptions and finding aids in order to make the fonds accessible and easily usable by researchers.
Organization:
Library and Archives Canada
Expected Results:
The goal for this portion of the proposed project is to create a user-friendly fonds that makes sense from both an archival and cultural standpoint. In their current state, the records pertaining to the Mohawk Institute are difficult to find, lack a sense of order, and have not been given any level of preservative care. This project aims to correct these shortcomings by imposing order, conducting preservation measures, and creating archival descriptions and finding aids.
