Description:
The project is a colaboration between three incorporated non-profit heritage organizations in Montreal that will increase access to and awareness of the documentary heritage of diverse local Afrodescendant communities to the wider public. The collaboration will also increase the capacity of each organization to keep and preserve their documentary heritage collections, via knowledge-sharing and updated practices developed during the project.

Expected Results:
The project will result in the digitization of collections owned by the respective partner organizations, which pertain to the documentary heritage of diverse Afrodescendant communities in Montreal. The guiding theme for the material to be selected for digitization is the arts and culture, cultural activities, institutions and arts and entertainment aspects from the 1950s to 2000s.
