Description:
The organization will create the first oral history archive of Canadian foreign policy under the Chrétien Prime Ministership (1993-2003). The archive will be composed of interviews with 150-200 actors involved in Canadian foreign relations during the period, including ministers, foreign officials, and indigenous leaders. The interviews will be housed in the University of Toronto's library system, and each interview will be available in video, audio, and transcript format

Expected Results:

The project's final products will be: a) a digital archive of over 150 interviews with key actors during Chrétien's years as Prime Minister available in video, audio, and transcription formats, b) several events across Canada focused on Chrétien's foreign policy, c) several public-facing articles focused on Chrétien's foreign policy, and d) a nonfiction book chronicling Chrétien's time as Prime Minister and Canada's role in foreign affairs during that period.
