Description:

The Ktunaxa Nation recently acquired 115 audio recordings originally archived at the California Language Archive. These language recordings include histories, lessons, conversations, word lists, and other language materials that are invaluable to the Nation's efforts to revitalize the language. The Traditional Knowledge & Language sector of the Ktunaxa Nation Council will undertake this project, bringing together skilled learners and fluent speakers to collaboratively transcribe and translate these recordings, and to share those transcriptions and translations in digital form. Once the Ktunaxa transcriptions and English translations have been approved and saved on Ktunaxa Nation servers, these sets of recordings, transcriptions, and translations will be made available to community members at a listening station.
