Description:
Key activities of this project include the hiring of an archivist who will develop standards, practices, and policy, assess current archive situation, create recommendations and a work plan that will guide untrained volunteers in archive management and will train volunteers to recognize and integrate archival best practices. The collection includes local family, business, and organization histories in the form of maps, documents, photographs, newspaper clippings, DVDs and audio cassettes.

Expected Results:
A knowledgeable, skilled volunteer team is the eventual goal. At least one individual will complete the Archives Institute training and all volunteers will receive training from the Archivist. Volunteer orientation, using these documents as they evolve, ensures sustained progress and good management.
