Description:
The objective of the project is to showcase and preserve 30,000 photographic negatives from newspaper Le Nouvelliste’s fonds. The goal is also to make these archives known and accessible to all Canadians. The project aims to digitize 30,000 documents in TIFF format, the content of which will be described in accordance with the Rules for Archival Description (RAD).

Expected Results:

The preservation of the iconographic content of 30,000 negatives in Le Nouvelliste’s fonds and their distribution on the organization’s website. The consolidation of partnerships and future collaborations with Le Nouvelliste, the UQTR’s CIEQ and la Cité de l’énergie. Making the archives available online will ensure that knowledge of Mauricie’s history is freely accessible to the entire national population. The expertise acquired by the organization in the digitization and distribution of photographs will enable it to offer a service to companies, businesses, and organizations, ensuring the development of further fonds.
