Description:
The 2024/25 CYFN Archives Arrangement Description and Access project will focus on 4 CYI series and 3 predecessor organization fonds within the CYFN Archives. The Project Archivist will complete appraisals, arrangement, RAD descriptions, re-housing, dispositions and ATIPP assessments to serve CYFN, Yukon First Nations and other researchers.

Expected Results:

Short-term results include tasks completed by Project Archivist to organize and describe 340 boxes of textual records and assist Yukon Native Language Centre Archivist Trainee with processing 100 maps. Long-term results will increase research access to records of foundational organizations for Yukon land claims: YNB, YANSI, CYI, YIWA, Ye Sa To Communications Society, YICES; linguistic research records and maps of the Yukon Native Language Centre.
