Description:
We want to fund a one-year position for an Archives Assistant in our consolidated archives in London, Ontario to provide a BIPOC candidate with experience in archival work. The Sisters of St. Joseph understand that representation matters and are committed to increase diversity within the archival profession. This project will carry out preservation, arrangement, description on our congregational annals and St. Joseph's Hospital and Nursing School, London records. Oral history recordings will be assessed and digitized.

Expected Results:

A total of 45 linear feet of annals and 28 linear feet of hospital and nursing school records will be processed. Audio recordings will be assessed and metadata prepared for digitization both in-house and by a vendor. A total of 234 oral history audio recordings will be digitized and selectively shared on the web, after appraisal for copyright and privacy issues. These digitized materials will be digitally preserved long-term.
