The key activities of ‘Translation and outreach’ are: translation of approx. 39,000 words of archival descriptions from English to Inuktitut (syllabics, South Baffin); conversion of approx. 39,000 words of archival descriptions from English/Inuktitut to Inuktut Qaliujaaqpait and translation of a 930-word video script from English to Inuktitut (South Baffin) and narration of said video;

Expected Results:

There are several tangible short-term results of ‘Translation and outreach’, mainly the translation and conversion of several multi-level, RAD-compliant archival descriptions into Inuktitut and Inuktut Qaliujaaqpait and then making those descriptions and associated digitized records publicly available on the ICC Canada web portal. One long-term result is a sustained engagement by Inuit with the ICC Canada Archives and its holdings in Inuktut. A general long-term result is an increased interest in Inuit documentary heritage from Inuit across Canada.
