Grants and Contributions:
The expected short term results from this project are two-fold––it addresses the urgent need to record and preserve IK and the lived experiences of Elders and Knowledge Keepers to safeguard for future generations, and allows SSIGA to document important TLU and IK to house within its data atlas and member community archives. In the long-term, this project will increase the capacity of SSIGA and its member Nations to record, preserve, and house the TLU and IK spatial data in the data atlas. Lastly, this project will support SSIGA's member Nations with decision-making, policy development, and negotiations related to proposed development in the Salish Sea.
The Documentary Heritage Communities Program supports the development of Canada's local archival and library communities by increasing their capacity to preserve, provide access to, and promote local documentary heritage.
