Description:
This project seeks to procure two-year funding to continue offering the AABC workshop “Archives 101: Archival Practice for Indigenous Organizations” through three online and one in-person event. Funding will allow the workshop to be offered at a minimal registration fee. This expanded workshop will be delivered by the Education and Advisory Services Coordinator and an Indigenous Co-trainer, along with Indigenous guest speakers currently working in an archive who will share their knowledge.

Expected Results:
The short-term results include relationship-building between participants and the EAS Coordinator and Indigenous Co-trainer leading to a greater uptake of services offered by the AABC.
The long-term results include increased capacity in Indigenous communities and organizations for making documentary heritage accessible physically and digitally as culturally appropriate in person and/or online through MemoryBC or in a Nation-controlled collection management system, therefore making documentary heritage in Canada more visible.
