2526-0094
Agreement Value:
$50,000.00
Agreement Date:
Apr 1, 2025 - Mar 31, 2026
Description:
The project sees two Montreal community archive centres, ARCMTL and the CIDIHICA, collaborate on the implementation and launch of new bilingual catalogue management systems (CMS) and digital asset management systems (DAM). Using current best practices for DAM and a state-of-the-art web design of the public user interface, the project will provide each organization with a portal that dramatically improves public access to and discoverability of their collections.
Organization:
Library and Archives Canada
Expected Results:

The short-term expected results of the project for both the CIDIHCA and ARCMTL includes an exponential increase in the searchability and discoverability of their collections, enhanced efficiency and consistency for description and metadata schemes, greater organization and management of collection information, and increased capacity for preservation of physical, digital, and contextual data. The longer-term results of this project include both archives achieving greater visibility and searchability by local and international researchers, as well as the potential to engage in information sharing in a wider archival network. It is hoped that the final result is a flexible, user-friendly front-end for the public and researchers to intuitively navigate each organization’s collections.
