Description:

Crop Defenders Ltd. is developing an innovative strategy and device to be used for pepper weevil suppression involving luring the pest and disseminating entomopathogenic fungi._x000D_ The project will require in-depth investigation on the horizontal transmission of conidia between individuals in the laboratory, and require the development of a longer lasting pheromone. We will experiment for the ‘attract/lure and infect/kill’ strategy, and integrate the attract/lure and infect/kill strategy with other control strategies. Finally, we will develop a fundamental initial prototype of an autodissemination device. _x000D_
