Description:
BioTepp produces and markets a virus-based bioinsecticide (Virosoft CP4) for the control of codling moth in orchards of apples, pears and a few other fruits. As this virus is very specific to codling moth larvae (carpocapses), it is produced in vivo on larvae, themselves obtained by controlled hatching of butterfly eggs. The project consists of developing a breeding house for butterflies adapted to industrial production of viruses.
