Description:

Hemmera is advancing eDNA studies to improve methods for detection of species at risk. Current studies are focused on optimizing sensitivity and accuracy of eDNA methods in a commercial laboratory setting for detection of target taxa. Our approach to commercialization is to develop methodology that incorporates rigorous quality assurance and quality control, thereby improving eDNA yield, accuracy, and precision in targeting species and improving consistency in intra- and inter-laboratory analysis and results. A prototype panel for seventeen (17) species of interest (i.e., species-specific primers) has been developed and is being tested in both the field and laboratory.
