Description:
Borealis Wind is developing a de-icing retrofit system for wind turbines. The system is currently manually controlled; this project will develop automatic ice detection and operation of the system, improving the effectiveness of the system and greatly reducing the downtime that turbines experience due to icing. This project will also adapt the system to one suited for manufacturing, allowing Borealis Wind to keep up with wind farm demand.
