Description:
This project focus on improving the predictive modelling for provincial level electricity demand, which sets all class A electricity consumers’ global adjustment payments in Ontario. The major components of this projects includes the quantification of extreme weather events’ impact in electricity consumption and the nowcast (extreme short term, <3 hour forecast) of such events. Weather events, such as thunderstorm, extreme heat waves are rare to observe and thus many existing weather/climate level modelling yields suboptimal performance when fitting to the level accuracy requirement here.
