Description:
Development and testing of seismic source electric vibrators utilizing direct drive (linear actuator) motor technology which when successfully operational, will represent a major innovation in seismic imaging. These electric vibrators will produce signals with wider bandwidth and lower acoustic distortion than conventional hydraulic vibrators. They will be safer and less intrusive to the environment than explosive sources, and considerably cheaper than both.
