Title:
Opening a can of opportunities (Identification of metabolic processes leading to mycotoxin detoxification in mealworms)
Agreement Number:
925137
Agreement Value:
$25,000.00
Agreement Date:
Mar 15, 2019 - Mar 31, 2020
Description:
Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) disease in wheat causes losses in yield and quality due to production of fungal mycotoxins. Mealworms can feed on mycotoxin-contaminated wheat and grow normally to be used as protein-rich poultry feed. This project will identify the novel detoxification pathway in mealworms and find useful applications.
