Description:
It has been shown than it is possible to produce ammonia by electrochemical method using water and air at room temperature and pressure. The efficiency is however too low. Finding electrocatalysts that are selective for ammonia production rather than hydrogen evolution is challenge that this project intends to overcome.

The Ideation Fund is intended to encourage, test and validate transformative research ideas generated by teams of NRC scientific personnel and external collaborators with complementary capabilities, acting as a demonstration phase for a continually-evolving suite of research and development (R&D) deliverables at the NRC.
