Financial support is provided to SHAD’s program in developing the next generation of STEM leaders and change makers, based on the program’s goal to build a national pool of research excellence, encourage youth to contribute to the development of evidenced-based science policy, and ensure underrepresented groups take their place in STEM.

  1. to provide the opportunity for remarkable Canadian youth to learn how to change the world through STEM (science-tech-engineering-math)
  2. to enable top high school students to benefit from Shad’s month-long STEM immersions, and become part of the lifelong Shad network.
  3. to develop confidence in participants capabilities and envision their ability to make extraordinary positive impacts, using STEM.
  4. to introduce youth to the STEM careers and workplaces of the future, and ensure thousands of young Canadians – including bright young women – will be prepared to take their place as STEM leaders and change makers.
