Illu is proposing to establish a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled manufacturing facility (NUNAFAB) in Cambridge Bay for offsite prefabrication of panelized wall systems and modular homes in order to meet the chronic shortage of affordable housing in the territory. In advance of factory construction and operations, Illu is planning to initiate a prefeasibility study in order to determine whether it is technical and economic viable to establish a fully automated modular home manufacturing plant in Cambridge Bay in order to address the housing crisis in Nunavut.
