Description:
To develop a software/GUI to process and administer the motion control for a smart scanner for weld inspection. The software will combine inputs from the magnet servos, Light sensor and Laser in order to facilitate the scan sequences. The GUI will allow the operator to initiate data collection without the requirement for manual steering, the smart scanner will keep itself centred on the weld without the use of external mechanical devices as is found in present day pipeline scanners. The GUI/Software will allow the smart scanner to be used with a variety of inspection technologies.
