Title:
Development of New Composite/Functionalized Cathodes for Bio-Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 to CH4
Agreement Number:
948442
Agreement Value:
$33,000.00
Agreement Date:
Apr 22, 2020 - Mar 31, 2022
Description:
The project will focus on the characterization of pathways leading to CH4 production from CO2 and improvement of the kinetics of the conversion reaction by modifying (functionalizing) carbon-based cathodes with (i) nanostructured non-noble metal electrocatalysts, and (ii) with organic functional groups.
Organization:
National Research Council Canada
Expected Results:
In the short term, anticipated outcomes will be strengthened collaborations across industry, academia, and government to support research excellence. In the medium term, anticipated outcomes will be the development of new and potentially disruptive technologies with collaborators. In the long term, find collaborative solutions to public policy challenges and create stronger innovation systems.
