Grants and Contributions:
Title:
Evaluation of recombinant ACE2-Fc fusion protein agents for efficacy in COVID19-related neutralization assays.
Agreement Number:
963520
Agreement Value:
$50,820.00
Agreement Date:
Dec 16, 2020 - May 31, 2021
Description:
Several rACE2-Fc molecules that have far higher affinity to the COVID19 viral spike RBD than the host ACE2 are being produced and purified by the NRC and collaborator JN Nova but a strategy for the selection of the best
molecules to advance to preclinical trials is required. This Project aims at testing the proteins for their ability to neutralize viral entry using two assays developed at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, which are shown
to be representative of the COVID19 viral infectivity mechanism on order to identify best leads for further development.
Organization:
National Research Council Canada
Expected Results:
In the short term, anticipated outcomes will be strengthened collaborations across industry, academia, and government to support research excellence. In the medium term, anticipated outcomes will be the development of new and potentially disruptive technologies with collaborators. In the long term, find collaborative solutions to public policy challenges and create stronger innovation systems.
