The proposed project aims to develop and demonstrate a machine learning based Recommender System using reinforcement learning and 2 different digital twin models, ultimately, to help Anaergia Plant Operators make more informed decisions, with an objective to optimize (increase or decrease) biogas production, total plant capacity, downtime, stability of biogas production, energy use, natural gas use, valorization of non-organic waste, quality of fertilizer output, based on Plant objectives and operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts.
