The object of the project is create a high-performance modular antenna system for a mobile wireless communication device such that:
- the antenna system can be constructed from one or more antenna modules
- each module is built with a common set of radiating elements
- different desired antenna radiation patterns and beam directions of the antenna can be formed through electrically controlling the individual elements by software
