Description:
Product development, sustainability, and market research will be the focus of this project. We will use the candidate's knowledge of phytonutrients in non-timber forest products in Northern Ontario to further develop our product line. The candidate will be working with the lead scientist from the Bio-Industrial Opportunities Section of Alberta Agriculture and Forestry to develop aqueous and solvent extract products (liquid and powder). Market research of current health issues and natural medicines that assist these ailments will be part of this project. We will examine 5 years of our collected data (GPS coordinates) and utilize the candidate's GIS training to sustain plant/fungi species and better understand their life cycle.
