Title:
Developing requirements for MASS cybersecurity research infrastructure
Agreement Number:
979746
Agreement Value:
$19,800.00
Agreement Date:
Oct 1, 2021 - Sep 30, 2022
Description:
Cybersecurity is a critical dimension of increasing marine automation. Industry, academia, government and other regulators are increasingly aware of the need for research and development around MASS cybersecurity, but early work in the area lacks co-ordination among key stakeholders. This project will develop a set of requirements for NRC-hosted virtual and physical infrastructure to support MASS cybersecurity research. This future infrastructure will support research, development, integration and proving by a variety of partners from industry, academia and the Government of Canada. Once designed and implemented, such infrastructure will provide a common resource for key stakeholders to reduce MASS risks and enable new opportunities in marine innovation. Before it can be designed, however, it is essential to gather requirements from a broad base of stakeholders. This project proposes to do this by conducting a literature review, organizing a stakeholder workshop and producing a final report detailing the requirements we will discover.
Organization:
National Research Council Canada
Expected Results:

In the short term, anticipated outcomes will be strengthened collaborations across industry, academia, and government to support research excellence. In the medium term, anticipated outcomes will be the development of new and potentially disruptive technologies with collaborators. In the long term, find collaborative solutions to public policy challenges and create stronger innovation systems.
