Agreement Number:

Agreement Value:
$20,000.00
Agreement Date:
Oct 1, 2021 - Mar 31, 2022
Description:
The overall goal of this project is to help implement new traceability regulations, set in place by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) on July 15th, 2020, in the Atlantic Canada craft alcohol sector. These traceability regulations are new to the alcoholic beverage sector and are part of the Safe Food for Canadians Act (SFCA). The CCNB research team will engage with a minimum of 20 businesses from New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia, to provide insight on the new regulations while gathering information to build a framework to help identify traceability requirements based on the client’s business plan. Businesses must meet the CFIA traceability requirements if they hope to sell any alcoholic beverage. CFIA was due to start enforcing these new regulations; however, COVID-19 has slowed their efforts.
