Description:
This project intends to develop a low cost sensor and communication (IIoT) technology to be mounted on the wheel set of rail cars. This technology will monitor the vibration and temperature of the wheel set to proactively manage wheel set failures (e.g. bearing overheating) and track anomalies to avoid derailments and reduce maintenance costs.
