Description:
As the only pyrophyllite mine in Canada, the firm has been working to commercialize pyrophyllite products across multiple industry sectors, investing in developing a flowsheet for the production of high purity pyrophyllite feedstock, based on near infrared (NIR) sorting technology. From this, the firm has been able to develop a clear understanding of the correlation between mineralogy, morphology and chemistry. This interlocking set of physical attributes will provide the benchmark for determining success in targeted industrial applications. Successful application will require continued investment in trial work, material characterization, in-house testing, and external lab testing, prior to commercial trials and targeted commercial adoption.
