The company recently built a new pilot plant in Saguenay that will produce biocarbon briquettes from sawmill residues. These briquettes will be used to replace fossil coal used in the ferroalloy manufacturing process. The company will hire a chemist to join the research and development team. His mandate will be to study alternative feedstocks as well as the pretreatment of feedstocks for the biocarbon production process.
