Description:
This project will investigate the feasibility of employing various Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) housing designs that will increase the overall efficiency of a nominal VAWT design. Based on the already proven concept of increasing Vertical Axis Wind Turbine efficiency through the use of “wind deflection technology”, the feasibility study will provide a baseline of knowledge for collecting wind test data, as well as narrow the parameters of the housing designs for future development.
