Description:
In this project, the goal is to reduce the errors between a modelled object and the real object manufactured by an additive or incremental process by proposing innovative tools for generating more accurate and versatile trajectories. Initially, the project will address the problem of error compensation by deformation of parts in computer-aided design (CAD). The objective is to have an efficient and rich CAD reconstruction tool to allow geometric compensation of errors related to the manufacturing process and thus improve the final accuracy of the parts. Subsequently, the parametric cutting of the CAD object will be considered as well as the tool paths that are required for additive or incremental processes. NRC’s contribution will focus on process simulation and industry-relevant CAD object data.
