Description:

The project encompasses development, programming and start up of next generation vehicle weld and assembly systems as well as retrofitting existing welding and assembly systems for new vehicle platforms and incorporating Industry 4.0 technologies and Internet of Things (IOT) subsystems. Virtually all new vehicle platforms are being developed including battery electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles and light-weighted IC vehicles. Developing next generation lines for these projects provides both an environmental benefit as well as ensuring production in North America is utilizing optimized technology ensuring competitiveness and on-shore manufacturing.

The purpose of IRAP’s Youth Employment Program is to assist in increasing the supply of highly qualified people, promoting the benefits of advanced studies, demonstrating federal leadership by investing in the skills required to meet the needs of the knowledge economy and facilitating the transition of highly skilled young people to a rapidly changing labour market.
