Description:
As part of the international consortium project Eureka Xecs Cluster: SAFETRUCKS, this project is concerned with the severity of accidents involving heavy truck vehicles, especially multi-unit heavy vehicles. Heavy truck vehicles can cause catastrophic outcomes in the event of an accident where human casualties, operational losses, and infrastructure damage are of major impact on individuals, governments, and businesses. In Canada and Finland, heavy vehicle accidents usually happen due to lack of sufficient information on road geometry, road surface, weather state, tire dynamics, and vehicle dynamics.
