Description:
Analgesic gels containing Benzocaine, a local anesthetic, among other potential APIs will be developed to include proteolytic enzymes and saliva producing/retention ingredients to help reduce oral inflammation for a more natural approach to healing. This benzocaine and enzymatic system, along with the proposed addition of hyaluronic acid, will aid patients post dental surgery in recovery without requiring opioid prescriptions, such as codeine. This will decrease the overreliance on opioids for post-oral surgery recovery, potentially reducing the rate of opioid addiction.
