Description:
The proposed innovation is a pipeline for the development of custom, low-cost, rapid diagnostic kits (point of care; PoC) focused on aquatic targets and environments. The long-term goal is to create a service that will allow for streamlined design, creation, validation, and, if necessary, regulatory oversight of tests for detecting the presence of specific bacteria, viruses, parasites, invasive species, functional markers, and organisms with biosensor relevance to aquatic animal and ecosystem health.
