Description:
Phase 2A of the Project focuses on developing a scalable Digital Material Passport (DMP) platform to support circular construction practices in Canada. Over 1.5 years, it will implement a proof-of-concept in real and simulated environments, establish data governance and business models, and build a national consortium. Key activities include designing the DMP template, testing it through case studies, creating governance and compliance frameworks, and drafting a strategic roadmap for Phase 2B. The initiative, led
by the University of Waterloo and NRC, aims to align with Canadian regulations and enable lifecycle tracking of materials. Anticipated outcomes include reduced waste, increased resource recovery, and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Deliverables will include peer-reviewed publications, a consortium plan, and a final report. Collaborators from industry, government, and non-profits will ensure practical relevance and broad stakeholder engagement.
