Description:
The project is a technical feasibility study to determine how best to adapt these European innovations for use in Canada’s Atlantic coastal context. The study would: Evaluate the physical, environmental, and regulatory requirements for reusing aquaculture nets in shoreline protection.
Assess the suitability of Canadian aquaculture nets for conversion into mesh-based erosion mitigation products. Identify pathways for scaling solutions to support both industry waste diversion goals and coastal community resilience.
