Description:
The project is to design and apply the lean manufacturing practices and principles into Orion Plastics manufacturing processes to achieve gains in productivity and efficiency improvement. The scope of this project is to redesign production lines with system innovation using lean manufacturing principles. The company will be hiring a Lean Process/Quality Engineer as well as engaging with a Consulting Firm to focus on continuous improvement. The objectives of the project will be to increase manufacturing throughput by 15%, reduce downtime by 33%, as well as reduce manufacturing lead times by a minimum of 10%. Accomplishing these goals will increase productivity, create new jobs, and increase competitiveness in the industry for key stakeholders and investors as well as Alberta and Canadian Economy.
