Development of Novel Insulation Process for Manufacturing High Voltage Coils
Agreement Number:
909183
Agreement Value:
$147,624.00
Agreement Date:
Jun 1, 2018 - Mar 6, 2020
Description:
Through this project, the Electric Motor Coil Company will develop the first-ever worldwide novel coil insulation/coating to merge hot press and VPI in one manufacturing process to insulate high voltage motor coils. This will be new business for EMCC, both processes as they stand cannot be merged, they will need to be further developed to be integrated into one continuous process. All of the equipment required will be designed and built in-house. This will drastically increase reliability from a few years to decades and ensure a long operating life of power generating station. The increase in reliability will be due to the new army corp electrical standard, and the existing IEEE standards.
