Description:

The proposed project aims to expand R&D capability in new product development and implement food safety standards (HACCP) and processing standards (GMP) in the new food manufacturing facility. Specifically, project includes development of a shelf-stable “Rice-Topper” product line of ready-to-eat, stew-like main dish intended to be served over rice, or another grain or carbohydrate staple of the consumer’s choice. Low acid, shelf stable, stew-like products with meat and vegetables in innovative retort “pouch” packaging are rare in the North American market.
