Title:
Food Safety and Cleanliness Improvements at Grain Mills
Agreement Number:
913198
Agreement Value:
$48,400.00
Agreement Date:
Sep 3, 2018 - Jul 5, 2019
Description:
Flour and other products milled from wheat, although raw products, was traditionally considered a low food safety risk since it usually undergoes a cooking step prior to consumption (i.e., baking) that kills pathogens. However, a series of recent high profile flour recalls have brought attention and scrutiny to the milling industry. Further, cleanliness at the mills and specifically within the tempering process has been highlighted as a major challenge as there is a lack of solutions available and a lack of attention placed on it. Agri-Neo will be working to complete a food safety solution to address these problems.
