Description:
Germany ZIM VAVS project with the Fraunhaofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) and nanocosmos GmbH (NC) titled "Viewpoint-Adaptive 360 Video Streaming for Live and Video on Demand". The project addresses two fundament adoption barriers for immersive (VR) video; low picture quality coupled with excessive bandwidth requirements. The project aims to solve this problem by integrating the new MPEG-OMAF, tiled based video standard and binaural audio into Liquid Cinema’s 360 interactive Video and Virtual Reality software solutions. The resulting greatly improved picture and audio quality, that vastly improves the consumer experience, coupled with significant bandwidth and cost savings for content providers will allow Liquid Cinema Inc. to deploy its products to a wider market, develop new future revenue generating product components, and retain its leadership position in a highly competitive international market.
