In order for robots to autonomously navigate commercial retail environments in a safe and efficient manner, there is a need to develop algorithms that can reason effectively in highly confined areas, cluttered with constantly changing obstacles, in organic layouts. Safety is paramount in these environments to avoid human injury and property damage. Advanced state-of-the-art software algorithms are required to be developed to achieve this goal.
