Description:
Commercial Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) are improving productivity in many industrial applications, they provide a disruptive platform for surveillance, search and rescue, agricultural practices, industrial uses, such as automated inspections and gas detection etc. Flight times of UAS are limited due to today’s battery technology. The objective of this project is to investigate and develop new approaches to increase flight times of unmanned systems by utilizing battery/energy swapping technologies to extend flight times for airships and/or drones to support continuous operations.
