Description:
The UKRI will hold a call for proposals aiming to solicit collaborations between UK researchers and the National Research Council of Canada’s Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) Challenge Program, on research projects aiming to innovate therapeutic viral vector biomanufacturing processes. The UKRI will enter into funding agreements with successful research organizations (academic, not-for- profit, and/or small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)) selected via competitive peer review process. The aim of the call for proposals is to support improvements in biomanufacturing for cost-effective gene and cell-based therapies through one of two of the following collaborative areas: 1) Process improvement for adeno-associated virus (AAV) based gene therapy. 2) Deployment of process analytical technologies to perfusion-enabled lentiviral vector manufacturing.
